Chemo today…

Friday, December 29th, 2006

It’s been a very busy week… we’ve had to make two trips to St. Paul this week! Wednesday, Ana had her bi-monthly GFR test and then today for a hearing test, Chemotherapy and later this afternoon she has an eye exam.

We have the date for her next MRI to see if were done with chemotherapy! February 7th 10:30 MRI then a 1pm Clinic visit.  we still have another chemo session late January but that very well could be our lastone!

I’ll post later about the very exciting Christmas we had and also I have video of Ana when she was on the local news last week!

Giving thanks to Make-a-Wish and Key Club of Central High School, Ana in the News!

nyc-trip-day3-062.jpgFriday morning after getting back into town from our fabulous trip to New York we had an opportunity to have Ana say “thank you” to the Central H.S. Key Club.

Ana gave a very detailed story of her trip in front of a group of about 30-40 high school students. I was very impressed that a 12 year old had such confidence to do that. I hope it’s a skill she keeps, it’ll make public speaking an easy class as she gets older.

In attendance was a newspaper writer from the Duluth News Tribune. Much to our amazement it was the front page story on Saturday! Next to the Nintendo Wii controller recall story.

Ana was also in this weeks Hermantown Star (another local newspaper) for the send-off her school put on for her.

So it’s Sunday night I’m still jet lagged/wiped from the trip… I can’t tell you how many miles we walked in NYC.

Make-a-Wish Trip Day 3

Monday, December 18th, 2006

We had a lot to pack into the day besides our luggage for the return flight home that afternoon. After a bit of creative packing we managed to get everything packed into the baggage we brought with us!

Once again we headed for Rockefeller Plaza to go to the American Girl Doll Store a 3rd time and another quick run though Nintendo world for Ana. After we made our way up 5th ave towards Central Park. Stopping at Central park for a carriage ride and we headed back to hotel.

The long ride from the hotel to JFK airport was something else… From the time we left New York City and arrived at JFK the fog had become very thick. Enough to delay the incoming flight that would become our outgoing flight. Which delayed us about a little over an hour. The photo below was taken from a bridge we drove over to get to JFK airport.

nyc-trip-day3-059.jpg New York you have not seen the last of us… Both Sara and I agree that if we could move our house and yard to New York we would move there in a heartbeat!

After the late departure we arrived back in Minnesota a little late Thursday night. And arrived home just a after 1am.
