Make-a-Wish Trip Day 1

Empire State Building VisitWe had a long day today… It started at 4am to get on our 6:20am flight. We got to board the airplane and our Make-a-Wish helper got permission for the girls to see inside the pilot cabin and the pilot answered the girls questions about the flying and saw the million and a half buttions, switches and levers. I was impressed that both girls had no major issues with the take off or landing!

We did have small hangup at the airport where my baggage didn’t show up for nearly 45min after everyone elses. Started worrying that my luggage was gone for good ending up in Mexico or something like that.  But it was a huge relief when out of nowhere it showed up with 3 other pieces of luggage from other travelers on our flight.

After that the day went very well!  We did a quick trip though Times Square bought 3pounds of M&M’s and the girls made Kisses and Peanutbutter Cup mini’s at the Hersheys store. Ana thought she died and gone to heaven with more chocolate between the 2 stores than she could think of eating.

The girls outside Macy's window displaysAfter an overcast yet fun VIP trip though the Empire State Building (see first photo in post). After we went to Macy’s, 9 floors of shopping fun… The kids have been saving this years trip to see Santa, until coming to New York. I think Sara and I had more fun than the girls. We were all bright eyed over the childhood memories of seeeing Santa at in the boat shaped building thing at the Miller Hill Mall. And then we got upset over the low budget wait chair and the only real face time you get with the cheap Santa is if your getting your photo taken and even then still it’s a race to see how many kids can be processed in a 5 The Senarighi's and Santaminute period of time.  Oh well enough of my rant. I’m sure we have created memories both will pass on to their own children someday.

After checking out Macy’s and Santa, I hailed my first taxi! The first to take me up on the offer was a black car/taxi, knowing better I turned him down.  Next came along a bike Taxi and I think we worked some poor college student to near death.  It almost made it worth the fare paid!

I have video I upload of the girls seeing Santa, the audio isn’t super it’s just off of my digital camera but you can hear Ana’s Christmas wish if you turn up the volume. NYC trip 105.mpg (4mb 20seconds of video)
For those who can’t make it out the audio… Ana asked for her tumor to go away and to get an iPod (video iPod). Nissa wants a fuzzy baton bag and iPod.

Tormorrow… Nintendo World Store recap, photos; the American Girl Doll store and much more!
